NABLOPOMO 10 :: Believe In The Power of Cat Sitter

Catsitter1_smallIf you're like me and you've seen those commercials for those Cat Sitter DVDs then you've probably thought, "Yeah, right. I bet THAT works". Especially since they make them for Dogs and Birds too. But you know,  there was always a sliver of wonder in the back of my noggin about whether it was really as captivating as they touted on TV. But I never wanted to spring for the $12.95 plus S & H to get it. I know, I'm a horrid furry beast keeper and an el cheapo to boot.

So, not long ago while I was out getting the 85 pounds of animal food we go through every month, I saw the DVD hanging there on an endcap. It was 10 bucks ($9.95, to be exact) and I had a $5.00 off store coupon. So, I figured, 'what the hell' and dropped it in with my intended purchases.

And promptly forgot about it.

Well, this morning as I was clearing out and straightening up the mess we refer to as "the table beside my chair", I unearthed the DVD. The furry beasts have especially trying this morning for some unknown reason- chasing each other around the house, skidding into the dogs water bowl and launching water all over the kitchen, bouncing off the walls, using me as a launch pad, bickering- so I decided to see what would happen if shoved the DVD in the player. As usual click on the image to get a larger view.

“This latest exhibition represents a culmination of exploring new directions in form and thought, content and materials. These assemblages are distinct and nostalgic, as well as deeply spiritual and earthy. Some bursting with colors, others juxtaposed with surrealist compositions and whimsy, this collection of my work is full of energy; warm and rich with the images and symbols that continue to be focal points for meditation and inspiration in my life”.
